How Much Does Your Province Cover?

British Columbia

Up to 80%

The BC Employer Training Grant covers up to 80% of eligible training costs, to a maximum of $10,000 per employee per fiscal year. A $5,000 Manager Track costs as little as $1,000 out of pocket.

Alberta

66–100%

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant covers two-thirds of eligible training costs for existing employees and up to 100% for new hires (employed less than 3 months). Maximum $10,000 per trainee.

Ontario

Up to 83%

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant covers up to $10,000 per employee. Small employers (under 50 employees) can receive up to 83% coverage. Most cannabis retailers qualify as small employers.

Atlantic Provinces

Up to 100%

Several Atlantic provinces offer up to 100% coverage for eligible employer-sponsored training. Programs vary by province — CannaReps assists with the specific application for NB, NS, NL, and PEI.

How Grant Applications Work

You (the employer) submit the application. Most grants are approved within 2–4 weeks. Training can begin upon approval.

Complete the program. Submit proof of completion. The grant reimburses the covered percentage directly to you.

The Retail Professional Accelerator™ is fully available to US cannabis retailers. While the Canada Job Grant doesn’t apply, the program’s ROI is built on revenue impact, not grant subsidies.
