The Government Will Pay for Your Team's Training

Cannabis Sommelier Certification is structured as formal educational tuition — making it eligible for the Canada Job Grant (Employment Training Grant).

We handle all the paperwork. You just enroll.

How the Grant Works

The Canada Job Grant (CTG/ETG) was created to subsidize employer-sponsored training. It's designed for businesses like yours to upskill teams without bearing the full cost.

The 3-Step Process:

  1. You enroll your team: Choose your level and number of staff members. We send you an enrollment confirmation.
  2. We submit the paperwork: CannaReps prepares and submits the grant application to your provincial program. No forms for you to fill out.
  3. Your province reimburses: After training completion, we submit documentation, and your province reimburses 66-100% of the training cost directly to your business (typically 2-6 weeks).

Why We Can Do This: CannaReps has successfully processed 150+ grant applications. We know exactly what each province needs, and we've earned trusted status with provincial grant administrators.

Grant FAQ

Does every employer qualify for the grant?
Most registered Canadian businesses do. Requirements vary slightly by province, but generally: you must be a registered business, not have received a grant in the past 24 months, and your staff must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. We'll verify for you at no cost—email [email protected] with your business details.
How long does grant approval actually take?
2-6 weeks depending on the province. BC is the fastest (2-4 weeks). Ontario is slower (4-6 weeks). Atlantic provinces vary. We'll give you an accurate timeline once your application is submitted.
Can we apply retroactively?
In most provinces, NO. You must apply BEFORE training starts. However, if you've already paid for training, contact us immediately—some provinces have exceptions for recent completions. We'll explore options specific to your situation.
What if our grant application is denied?
Rare, but possible. If denied, we work with you to understand why and explore appeals or alternative funding programs. You're not obligated to proceed with training if grant approval falls through.
Do all staff need to complete the training for us to get reimbursed?
No. Most provinces require 80%+ completion rate. If 1 person drops out of 5, you'll still be reimbursed. However, lower completion rates may impact future grant eligibility, so we encourage high engagement.
What provinces are covered right now?
BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Atlantic provinces (NS, NB, PEI, NL). Manitoba, Saskatchewan are being explored with specific grant programs. If you're outside these regions, contact us—alternative funding may be available.
Can we use the grant for Level 1 or Level 3?
Yes. Level 1 ($495) may not meet grant thresholds (grants typically require minimum $1,000+ investment). Level 2 ($995) and Level 3 ($2,500) are eligible. For Level 1, grants are rare but possible for large teams.
What documentation do we need to keep?
CannaReps provides all required documentation: completion certificates, attendance records, and performance assessments. Keep your invoices and any government correspondence. We'll guide you on what to submit and keep on file.
