FAQ on Choosing Your Level

What's the difference between self-paced (Level 1) and live sessions (Level 2)?
Level 1 is fully self-paced—you work through 70 lessons and 124 videos on your own schedule. Level 2 includes 8 live Zoom coaching sessions where an instructor guides you through the material, answers questions in real-time, and provides accountability. Live sessions are better for teams and people who benefit from structure.
Is the in-person intensive in Level 3 worth the extra cost?
Yes, if you're investing in career advancement or training a team. The 3-day intensive includes 24+ live strain tastings, facility field trips, certificate ceremony, and direct mentorship. Graduates report stronger network connections and faster career progression. For individual budtenders, Level 2 often meets their needs.
Can I start with Level 1 and upgrade to Level 2 later?
Yes. If you start with Level 1, you can upgrade to Level 2 within 12 months and receive credit for the material already completed. The upgrade cost is typically $500. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Which level is best for a team of 5 retail staff?
Level 2 Professional is designed for teams. At $895/person for 5+ staff, you get live coaching, accountability, and the team tasting kit. Team-based learning creates culture alignment and shared language across your store. With a BC grant, your net cost could be just $995 total.
Do all three levels get the same certificate?
Yes. All three levels result in a Cannabis Sommelier™ Certificate and digital badge. However, Level 3 credentials are recognized as "Master Level" by employers and include additional professional development resources, premium alumni network access, and enhanced career support.
